In the Area
Here in Penwith there is plenty to do. From St Ives in the East to Land's End in the West it is crammed with things to entertain young and old alike.
There's Land's End itself with attractions and scenery, little fishing hamlets tucked away in the coves and Penwith's Jewel- St Michaels Mount guarding Mount's Bay with Marazion, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole sheltering in the bay's arms.
Vestiges of the area's mining heritage abound or you can go even further back in time to when prehistoric and pre-Christian inhabitants lived and get an inkling into how the early Celts lived their lives and see where some of the Legends were born.
Perch on a cliff and watch a play at the Minack Theatre- open air and carved out of the granite at Porthcurno. Just imagine watching a play like The Tempest with the breeze in your face, the salt in your nostrils and The Lizard lighthouse in the distance! (Plays usually run from May to September but it is open all year round)
Locally there are all sorts of activities you can take part in. Sennen is Britain's second surfing venue with a BSA surf school down in the cove. There's cliff climbing, pony trekking, cycling and much more right on your doorstep.
